i like wine ALOT!
We all live in a world controlled by FEAR
Governments, Organized Crime, Terrorism, you name it, all get their power by keeping the public in fear of something.
Politicians claim that they are the ones who can protect us from whatever they tell us we should be afraid of.
In the 60's we had the Cold War when we were told that we should fear Communism and vies-versa.
Then we were told that we should fear the domination of the trade unions. By the late 70's early 80's it was fearing the first terrorist attacks from radical groups with strange names who worked together regardless their political views.
By the end of the 80's we were fearing the rise of Fundamental extremism under the guise of Islam.
The Muslim nations themselves were being told to fear the new crusaders from the west in their desire to dominate any country / the world, to get oil.
Those that seek power tell us that they are the only ones who can protect us, save us, from all that they have led us to fear, from situations they have created, so we should elect them.
In the UK we are told that we should fear everything from organized crime and drug addicts, to youths on street corners. From HIV, Bird flue, mad cow disease and anything else they can think up.
Now it is 'Global warming', and they are all jumping on the bandwagon. Whether there are facts to back it up or not, this is the new fear that is going to be the key to getting into power via the ballot box. Who knows, there might be something else for us to fear before that.
In the meantime, it is down to the military and the security services to sort out the mess left behind by the politicians, and when it goes wrong it is all our fault.
The knock back, is that our armed forces can not get enough recruits because the youngsters fear being sent to Iraq. Mind you an awful lot of them fear putting in a hard days work anywhere.
Then there are guys who come and ask about all the reasons why they shouldn't go and do some military service. Will it be hard? Will I get the weekend off? Will it hurt when I fall off my bed? Will the sergeant hold my hand if I fall out of the aeroplane? Can I write to Mummy?
for everyone
and for me it is not just a delightfully fruity
drink to sip with friends, it is a two pm lecture I cannot build up courage to go to
and pretending my head is in the clouds when really it is with my heart
under the table and wine bottles are just another way of saying
my red eyes are locked in a drawer with black underwear and sad songs
and I do not want to let them out today --
the wine is all gone now
and so am I.
I have a little experiment going that I'd like to
invite you to take part in. Basically I'm using the
internet to help me make decisions and enhance my
somewhat challenging life. I'm looking for people to
give me their opinion of my various situations and
I'll act on what you tell me to do because I simply
think that a bunch of people together will make better
choices than I do.
I've set up my web site (www.kanookle.com) so it keeps
track of your opinions for each vlog. You tell me
what to do with my life and I do it!
A lot of people are already helping me. Come join the
fun!
:)
