US wars to cost $3.5 trillion!

Hidden costs will boost the price of the US' wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to $3.5 trillion within the next decade, according to a new report.

About $1.6 trillion will have been spent by the end of next year - double the $800bn so far requested by the Bush administration, a report by Democrats on the Joint Economic Committee said on Tuesday.

Treating wounded troops, the extra cost of oil due to a fall in production in Iraq and interest on foreign loans used to fund the wars were the additional figures taken into account in the report, entitled 'War at Any Price'. (Note from me: Although I admire their attempt at truthfulness, they seem to have forgotten the 1 million PLUS Iraqis who have been killed, and the destruction of what was left of the economy of Iraq.)

Chuck Schumer, a Democratic senator, said: "What this report makes crystal clear is that the cost to our country in lives lost and dollars spent is tragically unacceptable.

"The backbreaking costs of this war to American families, the federal budget and the entire economy are beyond measure in many ways." (Note from me: I am quite sure that the cost is beyond measure to the families of the 1 million PLUS Iraqis who have been killed also. Why is it that the toll this occupation of Iraq has inflicted upon Iraqis is never mentioned?)

The White House has rejected the JEC report. (Note from me: Well of course, ignorance is bliss according to their way of thinking, which no rational mind could ever understand.)

Note from me: It has been reported (even in the U.S. media) that the true cost of the occupation of Iraq has reached $1.5 trillion. Of course the White House rejects reports of the true costs of the Bush Administrations desire for world domination. I can only imagine the horrors of truths that will come out once the Bush Administration is gone from the U.S. and the World.
