"Everybody should check out his very interesting/awesome/strange videos on youtube, not to mention his many, varied records-- R. Stevie was making home recorded experimental pop records before "lo-fi" was even a word, and he produces songs the way Steve Keene produces paintings: constantly, in great numbers, with something interesting about each one-- Fans of ELO, XTC, and LSD check out "I Like to Stay Home" which is one of my favorite songs ever. The guy is God (he even has a white beard and big psychedelic glasses just like God)".
-- Robert Schneider (Apples in Stereo)

"R. Stevie Moore is a genius of a rare order, with the ability to marshall a bewildering diversity of styles and influences and mould them into something quite peculiarly his own. He's one of the few practitioners of post-modernist cross-pollination with the wit and sheer taste to produce a worthy hybrid." -- New Musical Express (UK)

"The American record industry's failure to recognize and promote the unique gifts of this giant talent is a case of criminal neglect." -- Trouser Press Record Guide

"In a field where adjectives like "original" and "independent" are thrown around all too casually, R. Stevie Moore is the genuine article." -- Stereophile

"Recording in his home and selling his tapes direct to his fans, Stevie has for the last four decades effectively been functioning as a one-man underground label. His range of styles run across power-pop, punk, pscyhedelia, garage rock, electronica, synth-pop and even the odd burst of prog, all while having completely bypassed the conventional music business." -- Record Collector (UK)

"R Stevie Moore is probably the world's most prolific unknown singer-songwriter, his colossal output representing a victory for creativity over indifference. A sort of bedroom Brian Wilson, for 40 years RSM has crafted elegant and complex pop in a vast array of styles, playing everything himself and releasing the results on an estimated 400 albums." -- The Independent (UK)

"We can all celebrate the fact that R. Stevie Moore remains healthy and crazy. Unsung by all save a small cult, Moore deserves a wider audience." - - Billboard

Just, yes just found out about Vic Lovera. Knew him from 'Those Guys' in '95. Met him at Lauterbach's in Brooklyn, NY at an open mic gig. I bought a 'Those Guys' tape he recorded there. Dug it out today. Just wanted to hear it again. Thought about looking him up today on the net. Have the artwork of him & 'Those Guys' by Bop Monroe. Prayers to all who loved him.
